WordPress released security updates for versions 7.0.2, 6.9.5 and 6.8.6 on July 17.
WordPress says the 7.0.2 release addresses one critical and one high-severity security issue. The vulnerabilities include a REST API batch-route confusion and SQL injection issue that can lead to remote code execution. Because of the severity, WordPress enabled forced automatic updates for affected installations.

Namecheap has changed the Certificate Authority used for newly activated SSL certificates.
Since July 11, 2026, new certificates activated through Namecheap are issued by SSL.com rather than Sectigo. Existing certificates continue to work normally, but customers using custom CAA records may need to update those records to permit SSL.com to issue certificates.
Most website owners will never notice the change.
However, businesses using custom DNS configurations, SSL resellers or automated certificate-management systems should be aware of the change. A CAA record that only authorizes Sectigo could prevent a new SSL.com certificate from being issued.
SSL certificate changes aren’t particularly exciting, but they can become a serious problem when automated renewals fail.
This is one reason automated SSL management is becoming increasingly important for web hosting customers. The less manual intervention required to keep HTTPS working, the less likely a certificate-management problem is to cause an unexpected outage.

GoDaddy has launched a beta Developer Platform designed to make domain registration and DNS management accessible through APIs and command-line tools.
The platform currently focuses on domains, allowing developers to search for domains, check availability, obtain registration quotes, register domains and manage DNS without relying on the traditional web interface. GoDaddy has specifically designed the platform to work with developers and AI coding agents.
The significance goes beyond domain registration.
